Are filipinos considered asian or pacific islanders?

know that filipinos are truly considered filipino, but I know some would say that they are asian and some that would say that they're pacific islanders and some who would say that it's a combination, but are filipinos are more related to the asain descent or the pacific islander descent? Someone let me know.
