Good way to make a faceless mask?

I'm preparing to film a mini-series (It's not going to be huge, just a series for the internet) and I want one of the characters to have a faceless mask. My friend suggested cheesecloth, and it sounds like a good idea, but is there anything that may be better? The biggest problem right now is that said character will be in a lot of sword fighting scenes, so visibility is a must. Any suggestions?
