What to do with blonde hair to scene it up a bit ?

Hey, I have kinda light blonde hair and I want to make it a bit more scene by like high lights and things and how I get it cut but I can't die he whole thing. I was thinking putting a bit o purple like under my hair so it shows through my side fringe?.... What do you think?? How should I get it cut ? What colour should I think about ? Should I dip die my hair ?? Thanks please try and answer all the questions cheers :3
